Water Saving

Water Saving

Water scarcity already affects every continent.

Water scarcity already affects every continent. Around 1.2 billion people, or almost one-fifth of the world's population live in areas of physical water scarcity. Another 1.6 billion people, or almost one quarter of the world's population, face economic water shortage. There is enough freshwater on the planet for six billion people but it is distributed unevenly and too much of it is wasted, polluted and unsustainably managed.

Another 1.6 billion people, or almost one quarter of the world's population, face economic water shortage (where countries lack the necessary infrastructure to take water from rivers and aquifers).

There is enough freshwater on the planet for six billion people but it is distributed unevenly and too much of it is wasted, polluted and unsustainably managed.

The energy we use to heat, light and power our offices, homes and transport contributes to climate change.

What we do as individuals can make a real impact on the UAE greenhouse gas emissions, as a significant proportion come from our everyday activities. If everyone takes steps to save energy, the combined effect will make a real difference.

Free Low Energy Bulbs!

Traditional bulbs provide us with light but waste a lot of energy. Using compact fluorescent lights (CFL) and light emitting diode lamps (LED) can significantly cut energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Through our membership of Heroes of the UAE, we can offer every member of staff a free low energy bulb. Let us know if you would like some sample bulbs.

Carbon Footprint

Carbon Footprint

Carbon footprint is a measure of the amount of Carbon Dioxide or CO2 we produce per year.

Carbon footprint is a measure of the amount of Carbon Dioxide or CO2 we produce per year. CO2 is the principle greenhouse gas and it has a significant impact on the environment, and in particular on global warming. Click HERE to find out how we measured our carbon footprint and how we will meet our target to reduce it by 10% per year.

A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact our activities have on the environment, and in particular climate change.

It relates to the amount of greenhouse gases produced in our day-to-day lives.

Transguard Carbon Footprint Initiatives

As part of our corporate membership of “Heroes of the UAE” we have committed to:

  • Develop and implement a measurable strategy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions associated with energy and water consumption by 10% each year
  • Develop and implement a long term strategy for Transguard for year-on-year carbon footprint reduction
  • Allow independent auditors access to the environmental audits and review our activities
